Media Policy & Guidelines

Welcome to Roots N’ Boots Queen Creek (RNBQC)! We appreciate the media’s partnership in helping us showcase our community, our competitors, and the western lifestyle. To keep everyone safe and ensure smooth event operations, please review the following guidelines before submitting a request for credentials.

These guidelines are intentionally friendly, clear, and flexible — but still aligned with PRCA requirements.

Media Credentials Request

Safety is a top priority for our staff, volunteers, contestants, spectators, and media partners. All media must review and follow the guidelines below.

Interviews, feature requests, and special coverage can be coordinated through the RNBQC Board.

Media Credentials Request – Online Form

Updated Media Guidelines for 2026

These guidelines apply to all media covering PRCA events, including RNBQC. Failure to follow the rules may result in removal of credentials or future denial of access.

Unless specified otherwise, media refers to print, digital, broadcast, radio, internet, and photo/video outlets.

General Media Guidelines

  • Credentials are issued on an as-available basis to journalists/freelancers representing recognized news outlets who are assigned to cover the event and/or the PRCA.
  • Outlets may include: newspapers, magazines, radio, television, news services, rodeo‑focused publications, and established digital platforms.
  • RNBQC allows five (5) general media passes for outside media each year.
  • In addition, RNBQC has three (3) PRCA‑approved media contractors hired by the rodeo to handle all in‑arena photography and videography. No other media will be permitted inside the arena.
  • All approved media will be directed to our designated Media Row for coverage.
  • No freelance photographers or videographers are permitted without formal assignment from a recognized outlet.
  • All media must follow PRCA safety rules at all times.

Credential Pick-up & Photo Badges

This year RNBQC is using a new credential system, including photo badges for all approved media.

Where to Pick Up Credentials:

  • Credentials can be picked up at the RNBQC Volunteer Office located at Horseshoe Park & Equestrian Centre.
  • Exact office location and map will be provided upon approval.

When to Pick Up:

  • Pickup hours will be announced prior to the event (typically available during check‑in windows the week of the rodeo).
  • Photo badges must be picked up before your first day of coverage.

Important: Credentials will not be issued the same day as the request. All applications must be submitted and approved ahead of time.

Media Access & Location

  • Approved media must remain in designated coverage areas.
  • Media Row is the primary access point for still photography and general coverage.
  • Only PRCA‑approved RNBQC media contractors are allowed inside the arena, on the dirt, or in restricted chute/stock areas.
  • No one is permitted to enter off‑limits areas without explicit authorization from the Media Manager or PRCA officials.

Dress Code
(PRCA Required)

  • All personnel working in and around the arena must follow PRCA dress requirements:

    • Long‑sleeve western shirt
    • Long pants
    • Boots
    • Western hat

This applies to any media in PRCA‑controlled zones and is strongly recommended for all other media areas as well.

Check-in & Daily Procedures

  • Daily media check‑in begins two hours before each performance at the Media Office.
  • Proper photo credentials must be visibly worn at all times.
  • Media without valid credentials will not be admitted to restricted areas.
