Meet your 2019 Teen Queen Adie Woodward! Adie has lived in Queen Creek for 6 years and is originally from Granville, Ohio. She has only been riding for 2 years now, but both good and challenging horses have taught her how to be patient and continue to persevere. Adie competes in all gymkhana events including poles, barrels, mountain cow, bowtie and goat tying. When watching a rodeo, Adie most looks forward to the barrel racing because she is able to relate to the riders and the adrenaline they are experiencing in that moment. She admires Taci Bettis the most because of her ability to juggle life, school and rodeo and still be successful in the WPRA. Adie’s horse is a big, 16.3hh, quarter horse named Fiona. Fiona has a spunky personality, can always make Adie laugh and loves her jobs. She runs barrels on her and cannot wait to use her as a queen horse throughout her reign. One day Adie hopes to go to the bright lights of Las Vegas to watch the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo and meet some of the best cowboys and cowgirls in our sport. Keep an eye out for Adie this year, she is so excited to become a bigger part of your town.
Meet your 2019 Roots N’ Boots Jr. Teen Queen Amber Michne! Amber is 14 years old and has called Queen Creek her home for 10 years. Over the years she has competed in barrel racing, pole bending, goat tying and ranch sorting! Amber’s favorite event to watch is steer wrestling. After meeting Tyler Pearson at the NFR and learning about his horse, Scooter, that team quickly became her favorite! After graduating high school, Amber plans to pursue a career in engineering and design, but will keep rodeo close as she has dreams of being Miss Turquoise Circuit. This year you will see Amber riding her tall, beautiful, buckskin mare Rumor. Amber got Rumor for Christmas 6 years ago, and after some tough years facing injury they are excited for a great year filled with lots of rodeo. If you see Amber around town, make sure to stop and say hi!
